Our first summer symposium, organized by Barbara Kline, is scheduled on Tuesday, June 14th from 6-8pm at the Sunnyvale School Admin Building where our normal meetings are held. This month, we will be making bee hotels to help with bee conservation. Be sure to invite any friends, neighbors, relatives who you think might be interested in joining our wonderful garden club to come and participate!

Sunnyvale Recycling Roundup and Trash-off on April 9
Spring has sprung! It’s time for Spring cleaning and yard prep for the summer. Need to get rid of old, unwanted electronics, appliances and yard waste? Sunnyvale residents are invited to bring them to the annual Recycling Round-up and Trash-off on Saturday, April 9 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m at Jobson Park. Here’s a list of items that will be accepted:
- Computers & Laptops
- Networking Equipment
- Monitors & TVs *
- Printers & Copiers
- Phone Systems
- Cell Phones
- Wires & Cables
- UPS Units
- Appliances of all sizes
- Audio/Visual Equipment
- Scrap Metal & Plastic
- Large brushy items and yard waste
*Flat screen monitors and television will be recycled at no charge. But there will be a charge for older equipment that includes tubes ($5 for CRT monitors and $20 for televisions). Cash, checks and credit cards will be accepted by Verde Tech, which also offers an optional Certified hard drive wipe, at $20 per drive.
Items that cannot be accepted include:
- Tires
- Concrete
- Chemicals of any kind
- Paint
- Any pieces of equipment with oil or gas in them
- Batteries of any kind

Buy your tickets on the day of the event at the Tour Headquarters in the Sunnyvale High School Cafeteria at 222 Collins Rd, Sunnyvale, TX 75182.
Maps will be distributed on the day of the event at the Gift and Bake Sale, located in the Sunnyvale High School Cafeteria. Tickets must be presented for admission to each of the homes.

The Holiday Gift Shop and Bake Sale will be located Tour Headquarters in the SHS Cafeteria. Community members are welcome to shop at the Gift and Bake Sale even if they don’t take the tour.
The ladies of Sunnyvale Garden Club are outstanding cooks, so come early for the best selection of holiday candies, cookies, breads, pies and cakes. Individual pieces/slices as well as full cakes/pies will be sold.
