SGC Summer Symposium – Aug. 18th – 6PM-8PM (Location Change)

Our last summer symposium, organized by Barbara Kline, is scheduled on:

Date: Tuesday, August 18th

Time: 6-8 pm

Location: Sunnyvale Town Hall – 127 N. Collins Rd., Sunnyvale

**NOTE: The meeting place for August is not our normal site.**

Food: Potluck

Cost: $5.00

We will be creating burlap ribbon wreaths. Due to our limited funding, we are asking everyone to help with buying the burlap ribbon by pitching in $5.00.   The wreaths are easily customizable to represent different seasons or occasions. With just a new bow or decor item wired onto the wreath, a new look can be achieved.

Barbara will bring examples and demonstrate at the meeting. The wreath frames and the burlap ribbon will be furnished, so just bring your food, your $5,  and yourself.  Members are also  encouraged to invite friends or family who may be interested in joining The Garden Club.

SGC Summer Symposium – July 14 – 6PM – 8PM

succulent1Our second summer symposium and “pot luck dinner”, organized by Barbara Kline,  is scheduled for Tuesday, July 14th, 6:00 p.m. at 417 E. Tripp Rd. (the old elementary school).  We will eat before we start our activity, so bring one of your favorite recipes and a big appetite!  Beverages will be provided.

Barbara will be teaching us how to create succulent gardens.  The small cacti, potting soil/rocks, and clear glass containers of various types will be furnished.  The containers will be small, so they are cute but will not take up much room!

If you prefer to bring your own container, please feel free to do so. The little gardens in teacups or small ceramic containers are really neat. You may have an item that has sentimental value that could be used and that makes them even better.

Guests are welcome – so bring your friends, family, neighbors or anyone who you feel might be interested in joining the garden club.   Don’t miss the opportunity to have some summer fun, eat delicious food, and fellowship with good friends.

Please RSVP to Barbara Kline at barbarellak@att.net and let her know if you will be attending along with the guests you will be bringing!succulent2

SGC Summer Symposium – June 9th – 6-8PM

SCG Summer Symposium 1Our first summer symposium, organized by Barbara Kline, is scheduled on Tuesday,  June 9th from  6-8pm at the Sunnyvale School Admin Building where our normal meetings are held.   This month’s craft will be a cute 4th of July table  decoration.  All you have to do is add your flowers of choice. Be sure to invite any friends, neighbors, relatives who you think might be interested in joining our wonderful garden club  to come and  participate! Winking face
If possible, a rough estimate of attendees would be helpful, especially if you are bringing guests. Email
Barbara Kline Barbarellak@att.net and  let her know if you will definitely attend and if you are bringing friends. This will ensure that there are materials for everyone.  As in the past, it’s Pot Luck all the way on the food. Bring your best dish!  Casserole, salad or dessert… Hey a bucket of fried chicken would be great!!! Barbara will provide plates, utensils, napkins and beverage. Don’t miss the opportunity to make something pretty with everyone!!!
