CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON 2022

Twas 2 weeks before Christmas and all through the town,

shopping and decorating and running around.

The tables were set at the Church with care, in hopes all the members would soon be there.

When what would appear as it got close to the hour were all the Garden Club members in Christmas attire.

We all found our seats and were blessed with a bag, lots of surprises inside to be had.

All the tables alive with fun and chatter, suddenly grew quiet and I thought, “What’s the matter”?

I turned around to see with a smile,

the Sunnyvale High School Choir, singing for a while.

The food we were served, was so yummy, we sighed with delight as it found our tummy!

There were poppers, door prizes and the best table prize too.

Announcements and plans discussed for post 2022.

When all the business and festivities came to an end, we gathered our goodies and got hugs from our friends.

As we left out the door, we heard from our hostesses with delight…

“MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL YA’LL, AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!” Happy New Year too!

Group shot!

The entertainment was so wonderful!! We had a surprise visit from the Sunnyvale High School specialty choir.

FALL BEAUTIFICATION PROJECTS

With Fall comes the changing of the flowers in the Town East Blvd. median to welcome visitors to Sunnyvale. SGC members Mary Coon, Debbie Wood, Donna Moore, Laurie Sparhawk, Nancy Keim, Darlene Eberwein, Tameka Lewis-Baker, Faye Nabors, and Jeanette Hobbs all participated in this beautification project on October 18th after Jonie and Matt Johnson trimmed and cleaned up the beds to prepare them for planting pansies.  The ladies also planted pansies and ornamental cabbage in the containers at the Doris Padgett Library and the Fire Station.  In addition, now that the statue and plaque SGC donated in memory of Doris Padgett has been installed, they also planted daffodils and violas in front of the statue by the front door of the library.
