Sharing Life Community Outreach is a non-profit organization that serves those in need in the Mesquite and Southeast Dallas County area. They are located in Mesquite and offer assistance with basic necessities, food, clothing and household items as well as educational programs. They have also partnered with TXU and Atmos energy to provide limited assistance with electric and gas. Each year they offer a Back to School Fair, Thanksgiving Basket Event, and Christmas Fair.
SGC has been providing refreshment’s for Sharing Life’s Christmas Fair since 2001. Eastridge Park Christian Church has partnered with SLCO to provide the hall for clients to shop for clothes and toys for children (babies to teenagers). Clients start lining up as early as 2:00 a.m., and it is very comforting for them to receive a warm drink and cookies while waiting for their turn in line.
SGC also collects donations of non-perishable foods at each meeting to help stock SLCO’s food pantry. For November, baking items (flour, sugar, and cake mixes) are needed.
Volunteers are always needed. If you would like to volunteer, please call 972 285 5819.
