Unique Hanging Terrariums

One of the unique things that we saw at the District X Convention on Thursday , November 8th, was a tree of hanging terrariums  filled with Bromeliads and Tillandsia  (“air plants). The glass balls were filled with  sand  on the bottom and  the plant was  just lying on top of the sand.  The speaker used a “bottle tree” that she had painted silver to display the hanging terrariums. 

I did some exploring on the Internet to see if the glass holders were expensive and was surprised to find 24 of the teardrop shaped holders for only $32.00 on Amazon.  They were not so expensive after all.  You can find a variety of bottle trees on eBay or Amazon that are fairly reasonable in price or you could create your own.

SGC Christmas Luncheon Tickets

Tickets for the Sunnyvale Garden Club Christmas Luncheon, scheduled on December 11th at the Mesquite Rodeo 8 Second Club, are $32.00.  This price includes a wonderful lunch and a magic show by Kendal Kane.

Rachel Doyle is selling tickets and will have them available at the next SGC meeting on November 13th.  You can also purchase tickets by calling her at 972.226.4729 or emailing her at Rachel.Doyle@att.net.

Please make checks payable to Sunnyvale Garden Club.  Payment must be received before the tickets are released.

Deadline for purchasing tickets is December 1st.

Thank You!

I would like to say, “Thank You”, to all of  the SGC ladies who provided baked goods and/or worked at the “Sweet Shoppe” during the rummage sale last weekend.  All of the items looked delicious and I know that everyone who purchased   goodies enjoyed them very much.  I appreciate all the hard work that went into making the bake sale a huge success!

Now let’s all work to make our cook book project a huge success as well!
