IMPORTANT: SGC Meeting Postponed to Thursday, 02/13/14

postedponedPlease mark your calendars for Sunnyvale Garden Club meeting at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 13.  Please call or check with your Garden Club friends to make sure they got this message.  Not all members have e-mail, and many who do have e-mail do not check their e-mail messages very often.  We would hate for them to show up for a meeting on Tuesday morning and find no one there.

We will still “do” Valentine bags on Thursday.  So, please bring your items to add to Valentine bags to be taken to the elderly and shut-ins in the Sunnyvale area.  We all pitch in to deliver the bags – and it is really a blessing. The recipients are so happy that someone thought of them on Valentine’s Day.  They are just as happy with the visit as with the bag.  It will bless you as well as them.

Special Holiday Recycling Information

I know a number of folks will be having ‘fried turkey’ for the holidays instead of the traditional baked.  That leaves us wondering – What do I do with all the used oil/grease now?  The city of Dallas has a special ‘Cease the Grease’ program and Mesquite has one of the drop off points located at Eastfield College .  It is located in the SE corner of the W2 parking lot which is between building G and L (follow the signs).  Put the oil/grease back into the plastic bottle you purchased it in and place it in the ‘Cease the Grease’ cabinet.
