One of the unique things that we saw at the District X Convention on Thursday , November 8^th, was a tree of hanging terrariums  filled with Bromeliads and Tillandsia  (“air plants). The glass balls were filled with  sand  on the bottom and  the plant was  just lying on top of the sand.  The speaker used a “bottle tree” that she had painted silver to display the hanging terrariums. 

I did some exploring on the Internet to see if the glass holders were expensive and was surprised to find 24 of the teardrop shaped holders for only $32.00 on Amazon.  They were not so expensive after all.  You can find a variety of bottle trees on eBay or Amazon that are fairly reasonable in price or you could create your own.
